I am delighted to inform you that we are reestablishing Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), the National Leadership Honorary Society circle at Valdosta State University. Members enjoy the presitiguous honor of being in the top 35% of juniors, seniors, and graduate students invited to make application to this organization. Not only is ODK an excellent resume builder, but it is an energetic organization offering social and service opportunities with other student and faculty leaders.

Students achieve national recognition as participant of an organization that includes distinguished members such as: diplomats Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher, educator Joe Clark, Grammy-winner Sheryl Crow, comedian Bob Hope, journalist Walter Cronkite, Presidents Jimmy Carter, George Bush Sr., and Frankiln Roosevelt, Harvard Professor of African History Cornel West, environmentalist Jean-Michael Cousteau, Cy Young winner James Perry, authors Pat Conroy and Howard Gardner, and advisor to the Archbishop of Canterbury Terence Waite, US Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders, Senator Hillary Clinton, golfer Arnold Palmer, and scientist Jonas Salk.

The national purposes of Omicron Delta Kappa are threefold: to recognize men and women who have attained a high standard in collegiate academics and activities, and inspire others to strive for conspicuous attainments along similar lines; second, to bring together representative men and women in all phases of collegiate life to help mould the institution on questions of collegiate interest; and third, to bring together members of the faculty and student body on the basis of mutual interest and understanding.

Through membership in Omicron Delta Kappa, you gain potential friendships with over 300,000 women and men whose peers recognize them as scholars and leaders; recognition by those around you who have been selected as the very top men and women at your college or university; recognition by leaders throughout the world; and the opportunity to continue lifetime service to your college with fellow Omicron Delta Kappa members and alumni.
